Ann F. Arnold
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ann was a classroom teacher who earned her degree in Elementary Education from Buffalo state College. She graduated from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans and was admitted to the Louisiana state and federal courts in 1989. She practiced primarily in the area of insurance defense prior to serving as a confidential law clerk to a Circuit Court Judge.
Ann was admitted to the New York State bar in 1993 and has had broad experience in matrimonial, family, guardianship and civil litigation. She has been a Village Attorney, where she focused in writing ordinances and addressing municipal issues for the Village of Kenmore.
After leaving private practice, Ann was a court manager as the Deputy Chief Clerk of Niagara County Supreme and County Courts. In this capacity she became totally familiar with the intricacies of New York courts and was a leader in the planning committee for the Niagara County Integrated Domestic Violence Court. During this time, Ann instructed other attorneys in Article 81 guardianship and IDV training programs.
Ann’s commitment to serving the public was most apparent when she became the Senior Attorney for the Eighth Judicial District Court Help Center, an office for assisting pro se litigants and attorneys in their navigation through the complex court systems in New York. She worked with Judges and litigants alike, and was appointed to serve on many access to justice initiatives such as the Eighth District Pro Bono Committee. She regularly trained court clerks across the state in how to serve unrepresented litigants.
Ann is a member of the specially trained Attorney for the Child Panel. As such she is appointed by Family Court Judges to represent children in Erie and Niagara Counties in custody/visitation, family offense, paternity, abuse and neglect, PINS and Juvenile Delinquency matters.
Ann brings her experience as a gifted public servant and well-rounded practitioner to the firm’s matrimonial and family law areas. She is a member of the Bar Association of Erie County, Women’s Bar Association of WNY and is on the Matrimonial and Family Court Practice and Procedure Committees. She currently is a board member with the Women Lawyers of Western New York. She has served on the Board of the Roswell Alliance at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and actively supports the Family Justice Center of WNY.
